Introduction

This portion of the antmacroecology.org website is dedicated to the AntMap project. The long-term goal of AntMap is to generate range maps of as many ant species as possible for use in conservation biology, ecology and biogeography of ants. Our first step is develop preliminary maps of North American ant species. We have posted these maps to (hopefully) get comments about and additional distribution data on these species. Errors exist and most of these maps have not yet been vetted by expert myrmecologists. If you have questions or comments about any of the maps (or know of North American species that are missing) please contact Mike Weiser at mdweiser@ncsu.edu
